What Are DVC Points?
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is Disney's timeshare program. Instead of owning a specific week at a specific resort, DVC members purchase points that can be used to book stays at any DVC resort.
Each resort and room type requires a specific number of points per night, which varies by season and demand. For example, a studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge might require 15 points per night in value season, but 25 points during peak holiday weeks.
When you rent DVC points, you're essentially paying a DVC member to use their points to book a reservation in your name. You receive an official Disney confirmation and stay as a regular Disney guest—but at 30-60% off retail rates.
Booking Timeline
11 Months Out: Home Resort Priority
DVC members can book their "home resort" 11 months in advance. This is the best window for popular dates and resorts.
7 Months Out: All Resorts Open
At 7 months, DVC members can book any DVC resort. This opens up more availability across the system.
Under 7 Months: Lower Rates
Closer to check-in, per-point rates drop ($16-18/pt vs $20-22/pt). Great for last-minute trips if availability exists.
