The Definitive Guide to
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Victorian Elegance at the Heart of Disney Springs — A Complete DVC Resort Guide
Resort Overview
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opened in May 2004 as the eighth Disney Vacation Club property and has since grown into the largest DVC resort by number of units. Inspired by the historic resort town of Saratoga Springs, New York — famous in the late 19th century as a retreat for New York's elite, with its thoroughbred horse racing, mineral springs, and grand Victorian hotels — the resort beautifully captures the refined but leisurely spirit of that era. The architecture features Victorian styling with graceful columns, ornate gingerbread detailing, and a color palette of soft creams, greens, and golds. The resort is divided into multiple districts — Congress Park, The Springs, The Paddock, The Carousel, and Artist's Palette — each evoking a different aspect of the historic Saratoga Springs experience. What makes this resort particularly beloved among DVC members is its superb location adjacent to Disney Springs, one of the best locations on Walt Disney World property for entertainment and dining access.
Location and Transportation
Saratoga Springs Resort enjoys one of the most enviable locations on Walt Disney World property, sitting directly across Village Lake from Disney Springs. Guests can walk to Disney Springs in roughly five to ten minutes via a pleasant lakeside path, making it the easiest resort on property for accessing the entertainment, dining, and shopping complex. This walkable access to Disney Springs is one of the resort's greatest practical advantages. For theme park travel, Disney buses serve all four parks from multiple stops throughout the resort. Boat service is also available from the marina, connecting guests to Disney Springs via a scenic water route. While no monorail or Skyliner access exists here, the bus network is comprehensive. The Congress Park section of the resort sits closest to Disney Springs, making it the most sought-after assignment for guests who want maximum walking access to the entertainment district. Guests with cars have easy access to all of Walt Disney World via nearby roads, and the resort's size means that internal bus service is provided within the resort itself.
Theming and Atmosphere
The resort's Victorian horse-racing aesthetic is executed with elegance and consistency throughout the property. The main building, Congress Park, features a grand lobby with marble floors, equestrian artwork, and warm lighting that evokes the golden age of American resort travel. Throughout the grounds, references to horse racing, mineral springs, and Victorian leisure abound — from street lamp styling to garden arrangements to the spa's design. The Springs district surrounds a central pool area and carries a more aquatic, mineral-spring theme, while The Paddock references the equestrian culture of Saratoga with riding-inspired decorative elements. The scale of the resort is considerable — with over 800 villas spread across multiple districts, Saratoga Springs is genuinely a resort village unto itself. Despite its size, the landscaping and district planning ensure that each area feels intimate and well-defined. The overall atmosphere is refined without being stuffy, with abundant green spaces and pleasant water features contributing to a relaxing ambiance.
Villa Categories and Room Types
Saratoga Springs offers the full range of DVC accommodations from Studios through Grand Villas. Studios accommodate up to four guests and include a queen bed, queen sleeper sofa, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and coffee maker. They are comfortable for short stays but lack the kitchen and laundry amenities of larger units. One-Bedroom Villas accommodate up to five guests with a king master suite, full kitchen, washer and dryer, whirlpool tub, and separate living area with a queen sleeper sofa. Two-Bedroom Villas combine a One-Bedroom and a Studio to sleep up to nine guests, while the Treehouse Villas offer one of the most unique accommodations anywhere on Disney property. The Treehouse Villas are elevated wooden structures set among the trees near Turf Club Lake, accommodating up to nine guests across two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a large wrap-around deck. Their distinctive design and woodland setting make them a memorable and much-sought-after option. Grand Villas accommodate up to twelve guests in a three-bedroom configuration with full amenities.
Recreation and Amenities
The main pool at Saratoga Springs is the High Rock Spring Pool, a magnificently designed leisure pool featuring a waterslide built into a fabricated rock formation, a whirlpool spa, and a zero-depth entry area. The theme evokes the mineral spring culture of the historic Saratoga, and the pool complex is large enough to accommodate the resort's significant guest population without feeling crowded. Several additional quiet pools are distributed throughout the resort's districts. A full-service spa — one of only two at DVC resorts on Walt Disney World property — offers a range of treatments including massages, facials, and body wraps. The fitness center is well-equipped. Bike rentals allow guests to explore the resort's extensive paths, and boat rentals are available from the marina. Tennis and basketball courts are on property, along with an arcade game room. The walking/jogging path around the resort is popular with fitness-minded guests. The resort's proximity to the Disney Springs Entertainment District means that its recreational offerings extend significantly beyond the resort boundaries.

Dining: The Turf Club, Artist's Palette & Disney Springs
The Turf Club Bar and Grill serves as the resort's primary table-service dining option, offering American cuisine with an equestrian flair in a warm, clubhouse-inspired setting. Open for dinner service, the Turf Club has earned a reputation for solid steaks, seafood, and classic comfort dishes. The Artist's Palette is the resort's quick-service location and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Its name and décor pay homage to the artistic community that has long been associated with Saratoga Springs — artists who gathered in the region are celebrated through colorful, creative decorations.
The On the Rocks pool bar serves tropical cocktails, beers, and snacks during pool hours. Backstretch Pool Bar offers similar poolside service at one of the resort's additional pool areas. Because Saratoga Springs is walkable to Disney Springs, guests have access to one of Walt Disney World's most impressive dining corridors within minutes — including world-class restaurants such as Morimoto Asia, STK Orlando, and The Boathouse, making the resort's immediate dining vicinity exceptional.
